 A CELEBRATION OF THE AMERICAN FARM The Old Farmer's Almanac has teamed up with a newly minted record label, Almanac Recording Company, to release a beautiful collection of music called A Celebration of the American Farm: Traditional and Contemporary Music Inspired by the Spirit of the Family Farm. The CD features all original recordings by notable talents Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, Nanci Griffith, Maura O'Connell, Glenn Yarbrough, John Cowan, David Schnaufer and others. There is a tremendous range of sounds, from a hauntingly beautiful orchestral piece, "Prairie Spring" by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, to a Depression-era blues offering, "Thunder Rollin' 'Cross Arkansas" by Victor Mecyssne.; from the piano of Paul Hovda to the dulcimer and Tennessee Music Box of David Schanufer and Stephen Seifert.
