"Stephen Seifert is my favorite dulcimer player, and we live to play the old mountain tunes with their rare modal beauty, crooked timing and rhythmic drive. "Wild Rose of the Mountain" is for Annadene Fraley who showed me where the rhythm really lives. "Barlow Knife" is for my mother, Doodle, who was a fine whittler. "Black Mountain Rag" I did just to watch Steve invent some new licks right on the spot."
